I have Money files that are either corrupt or unreadable. Will this application restore them? Is it safe?
Yes, SecureRecovery for Money is a safe, secure and effective option for MS Money data recovery.
Because file corruption varies, you should try the free demo in order to quickly determine whether SecureRecovery for Money will be able to repair your files. The demo can identify recoverable data and showcase some of the features of the tool.
Before installing either the full version or demo version of SecureRecovery for Money, you should back up each of your Money files. This prevents accidental damage.
Will SecureRecovery for Money work with corrupted MS Money backup files (.MBF extension)?
Please note that the difference between compressed and non-compressed Money backups is related to the internal structure of the file, not in the extension or in any other external features. Compressed files are not compatible with this software. To determine whether your backups are recoverable, use the free demo version of SecureRecovery for Money before purchasing a license.
How do I run this software through the command line? Can I create batch files?
Yes, you can create batch files and access SecureRecovery for Money through the command line, provided that you have either a Service or Enterprise license. This feature is not available with the Standard license, however, and you will need to create the output directory for your recovered MBF files before performing the call.
The command line call is as follows (no angle brackets):
mr.exe “”
You can use common modifiers, including “?” to replace individual characters and “*” as a replacement for groups of symbols (e.g. *.mbf or July???.mbf).
Is the demo version significantly different from the full version?
Yes. The demo version can only recover a set number of rows in each table of your MS Money files.
After the software reaches its recovery limit, it will replace remaining recoverable rows with the word “demo” (for text fields) or with numerical values such as 123.45 (for numerical fields). If you see this placeholder text, it indicates that SecureRecovery for Money will be able to restore these fields; if any records, tables, or other elements are not visible or accessible through the output of the demo version, they will not be recoverable with the fully licensed version.
All of the full versions of SecureRecovery for Money are free from the limitations of the demo version.
Are there major differences between the licensing options?
Yes. Depending on how you want to use the software, you may need a specific type of license. Please visit our “Licensing” page for detailed information.
After running SecureRecovery for Money, I received the message “MS Money template error.” Why does this occur, and is there a solution?
This occurs because of a missing template. Try downloading the complete archive of templates for SecureRecovery for Money, then unpack them to the directory where SecureRecovery for Money is installed. Restart the program and attempt to process the corrupted file again.
