What are the advantages of trying the free demo of SecureRecovery for WordPerfect?
The main advantage is that the demo lets you assess the product before purchasing. While the demo output is limited (it can only recover several paragraphs of text, and the rest of the text will be replaced with demo placeholders), it gives you an accurate idea of whether SecureRecovery for WordPerfect will successfully repair your document.
Please make sure that you have a backup of all corrupted WordPerfect files before you attempt to run SecureRecovery for WordPerfect. This is an important step to take when using either the full version or the demo version.
Will this application recover all elements of my WordPerfect file, including formatting?
Yes, in most cases, but severe corruption may prevent SecureRecovery for WordPerfect from accessing every element. As a result, you may lose some formatting. The demo version lets you determine whether or not this will occur before you buy a license.
Why is the recovered file slightly smaller than the original file?
This is due to the recovery process. SecureRecovery for WordPerfect will not recreate extremely damaged file areas, so the resulting file is normally smaller than the original corrupted file. If your recovered file reads properly, this is not a serious issue.
Likewise, demo recoveries are much smaller than the originals in most cases. This is due to the presence of placeholder text and is not a sign of severe corruption.
If I need access to a large quantity of corrupted WordPerfect files, can I set up a batch file or run SecureRecovery for WordPerfect through the command line?
Yes, you can run the application through the command line, provided you have an appropriate license. Currently, this feature is restricted to the Enterprise and Service licenses, and it is not available under the Standard license.
Here is the command line call:
wpr.exe “”
You should not use angle brackets when creating the call. When creating a batch file, you may find it helpful to use ‘*’ as a replacement for complete groups of symbols. ‘?’ can replace single symbols and characters. Before you run the SecureRecovery for WordPerfect application, check to see that you have established an appropriate output directory. If the directory does not exist, you will need to create it prior to running the application or your batch file.
Are there any other differences between the product license options?
Yes. Please read through our entire license scheme on our Licensing page to learn more.
